East Billerica Postmaster
Postmaster of the East Billerica post office, serving the eastern village of Billerica. Peter B. Bohonan, the railroad station agent, was appointed the first postmaster on December 21, 1877 (Hazen's History of Billerica), and kept the office in his home. The office closed in 1922.
The office is not in the USPS Postmaster Finder. Later postmasters are from the Official Register of the United States: P. B. Bohonan (1883, 1885), E. W. Livingston (1889, 1891) and W. F. Symmes (1893 through 1911). The exact years of the changes from Bohonan to Livingston (between 1885 and 1889) and from Livingston to Symmes (between 1891 and 1893) are not known; the rows use the first year the new postmaster is listed.
